Prof. Dr. Elena Bermejo González

ELENA BERMEJO GONZÁLEZ was born in Santiago de Compostela in 1950 and in 1980 graduated in Pharmacy at the University of Santiago, where in 1988 she received her PhD for work on the coordination chemistry of benzenecarbothioamides with Lewis acids performed under the supervision of Prof. Alfonso Castiñeiras Campos. Since then she has taught Inorganic Chemistry (currently as Assistant Professor) in the Faculties of Pharmacy and Chemistry ofthe University of Santiago. In 1992 and 1993 she worked with Prof. K.B. Nolan on the properties of the antihypertensive lisinopril and the aspirin metabolite salicylglycine during visits to the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin.
